4/11/09 Colossians 3:5-9

SCRIPTURE:

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature; sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming, You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of all such theses: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips, don not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices. (Colossians 3:5-9 NIV)
OBSERVATION:
This is a listing of some of the sins that can separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ. If these activities are practiced a person can not lead a new life.
APPLICATION:
The cross stands on top of these practices. One often thinks of sin as a being huge terrible things. But sin is anything or practice that separates us from the love of God. It is important to note the not lying to each other. This calls us into covenant relationships so we can all live in Christ together.
PRAYER:
Lord, I thank you for new life. Give me the strength to always walk in you ways and give honor to you.
YES:
I will say yes to new life in Christ.
