SCRIPTURE: James 3:13-17
But the wisdom that comes from heave is firsts of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and sincere. (Vs. 17)
OBSERVATION:
There are 2 types of wisdom; earthly and heavenly. Both forms of wisdom are demonstrated in action. Others can se where our wisdom comes from.
APPLICATION:
We must make decisions on a daily basis (large and/or small). Sometimes it seems we must a make a quick decisions. But almost always we can stop and ask for the Lord’s help. Good decisions demonstrate good wisdom (from heavenly source) when they are shown by good actions.
PRAYER:
Lord thank you for the fount of your wisdom. Slow my earth reactions and teach me to turn to you when making decisions.
YIELD:
Making decisions without seeking Godly wisdom.

Power of 3 Relationship Ministries said...

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come down from heaven but is earthly unspiritual of the devil. For where you have envy and selfish ambition there you find disorder and every evil practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate; submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. -James 3:13-18
Observation - My first thought about this passage was career based or social standings, but it hits home with relationships.
Application - Taking the focus off of yourself, whether it's in your job, social standing, or your relationships, will provide a more fulfilling life because it is God's design of how we should be.
Prayer - Lord, forgive me. So many times I become selfish and let my pride get in my way. Open my heart to follow heavenly wisdom.
Yield - Making decisions based on self instead of others
