SCRIPTURE:

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you, and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. (Ephesians 5:1-2 NAS)
OBSERVATION:
This is a call to accept our inheritance of love by acting in love of God as shown through Jesus Christ.
APPLICATION:
To “imitate” God means to pattern our life after the life and teachings of Jesus. While we can not attain complete imitation we can always strive to live a life which an offering to God. This gives thanks for what God did for us through Jesus Christ.
PRAYER:
Lord I wish to be an imitator of you. Forgive me when I have conformed myself to the influences of this world. Teach me to live in your love.
YES:
I will be an imitator of God through the teachings and love of Jesus Christ.
