3/`8/09 Genesis 3:8-12

SCRIPTURE:
(Please share the verse(s) which speaks to you)
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?”
OBSERVATION
This is one of the earliest examples in the Bible of God seeking relationship with God. Metaphorically, it also shows how God “walks” with people. Finally this is most often called “The Fall” passage, our sin.
APPLICATION:
We have the ablitiy to make choices which can separate us from God. Adam and Eve do not seek the counsel of God but choose to receive the advice of a snake. It is important to, in all things, seek the counsel of the Lord. This is done by searching Scriptures, prayer, and relationships with others who are constantly seeking the Lord.
PRAYER:
Lord forgive me for when I have made quick choices with out seeking your counsel. Let me give thanks for your ever presence and how you walk with me each and every day.
YES:
I will seek the Lord’s counsel through Scripture, prayer, and covenant relationships.

Scripture: The man said, " The woman you put here with me" she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it"
Observation: Adam is blaming Eve for not following God's instructions.
Application: How easy is it for us to blame others for where we fall short? I know I do in my daily life. I blame my work for not doing my scripture study, because I want to get those few more hours of sleep.
Prayer: Lord, you know I have fallen short so many times. Please help me accept my failures and confess them to YOU for what they are. They are MY failures and shortcomings. I know that you will understand because of your love for me.
Yes: I will admit my shortcomings. I will not blame outside interferiences for my shortcomings. I will grow!
